LAURIE FARROW Managing Director/
Occupational Therapist

Laurie graduated 25 years ago from W.A.I.T. now Curtin University.

Laurie’s office bearing includes past President of OT Australia WA, past and current member of the OT National Council, a current member of the Registration Board, an adjunct senior lecturer at James Cook University and part time lecturer at universities throughout the nation. Laurie conducts post graduate courses in Functional Soft Tissue Medicine which has been running since 1994, in Perth, Townsville, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne and Brisbane, and is currently certificated through James Cook University in Townsville.

Laurie has spoken at many conferences worldwide and most recently spoke as guest of honor at the Singapore Malaysian OT Symposium in Langkawi and at the All India OT Conference in India.  Laurie is regularly asked to speak to corporate industry in relation to optimizing executive performance and also has strong links with the corporate sector throughout Australia.

Laurie’s awards include: Occupational Therapy “Entrepreneur of the Year Award” 1994: Australian Gymnastics Association “Official of the Year” 1998: the “Australian Sports Medal” 2000 as part of the Australian Honours List. Laurie has represented Australia as treating practitioner at 8 World Championships and is currently the Managing Director of Health Central Occupational Therapy International.

Laurie has treated the elite athletic fraternity since the early 1990’s, treating professional ballet dancers and contemporary dancers, professional basketball players from the NBL and ex NBA, soccer players, gold medal Olympians in sailing, national track and field athletes, professional artistic skaters, badminton players, boxers etc.

Laurie also treats many of the professional musicians, dancers and singers who undertake concert tours to Perth.

NICOLA BYRNE
Occupational Therapist

Nicola is an experienced Occupational Therapist who works at Health Central OTI in Ardross. She has developed a successful clinic treating a diversity of clients from all ages and walks of life. Nicola has degrees in a bachelor of Science (Psychology) and a Masters of Occupational Therapy (MOT). She worked in London fro 12 months as a Senior Occupational Therapist in the Orthopedic Rehabilitation team and has experience in vocational rehabilitation.

Nicola treats clients from infants to the elderly, however specialises in the treatment of athletes including gymnasts, dancers, soccer players and basketballer’s. Nicola's passion in this area comes from her previous training as an athlete and experience as a WAIS gymnast.

Nicola is the Whole Body Vibration (WBV) specialist within Health Central, conducting personal and group WBV assessments.

Nicola prides herself on treating each client as an individual with diverse needs for treatment and healing.

LAUREN ADENDORFF
Occupational Therapist

Lauren graduated from Curtin University in 2005 and has been working at Health Central OTI since 2006. She is currently working between both the Mount Hawthorn and Ardross Clinics.

Since working with Health Central Lauren has worked with a diverse range of client groups, including athletes, children and executives within the corporate sector. She is currently the treating therapist for the Australian Underwater Hockey team, and will be travelling with the team on their 2008 World Championships in South Africa.

Lauren has a holistic approach to her client care, using external modifications and strategies to assist in alleviating negative peripheral factors in client health. These may include stretching programs, exercise programs, client education and workplace assessments.

Lauren has previous experience in Physical Rehabilitation and Aged Care focusing on mobility, utilisation of assistive equipment and developing activity programs for high care clients. She also has experience in programs assisting adolescents and adults, with mental health issues, to live independent and healthy lifestyles. Lauren is looking to further develop her current knowledge and qualifications in the near future via external study through James Cook University.

KELLIE DANKER
Occupational Therapist

Kellie is an Occupational Therapist at Health Central OTI in Ardross. She holds a Bachelor of Science Occupational Therapy degree from Curtin University of Technology and has over 1000 hours of practical experience. Kellie has worked previously as an Occupational Therapist in Occupational Health and Safety, developing risk management systems for various corporations; assisting the elderly in nursing homes to maximise their function; burns; mental health and in pediatrics working with children with developmental delays. Kellie is qualified with the assessment, prevention and treatment of neuromuscular symptoms and conditions.

Kellie’s clients come from a wide range of sources including athletes, various sporting groups, the corporate sector, health club patrons and adolescents. Kellie brings a client centered approach to her clinic and provides soft tissue treatment tailored to the individual. Kellie is available for corporate health seminars, community education seminars, ergonomic assessment and worksite evaluations. Kellie is passionate in achieving positive outcomes for her clients and helping the community learn about improving wellbeing and quality of life.

RYAN STANFORD
Occupational Therapist

Ryan is an Occupational Therapist at Health Central OTI in Ardross. He has completed a Bachelor of Science Occupational Therapy degree from Curtin University of Technology with over one thousand hours of experience. This includes working as an Occupational Therapist in vocational rehabilitation, occupational health and safety, mental health, paediatrics and orthopaedic rehabilitation. Ryan was also involved with the Curtin Occupational Therapy Abroad program, and traveled to China in his final year of study to work among children with disabilities including cerebral palsy.

Ryan has treated a diverse range of clients from all walks of life, including office professionals, tradesmen, the elderly and athletes. Ryan has a passionate interest in sport, and throughout his junior years was involved in basketball, water polo, specialist tennis programs, athletics, and is currently still competing in national level swimming. This has given Ryan a keen interest in helping men and women to recover from injuries and muscle discomfort sustained during physical activity, and to return to participate in these activities that they enjoy.

Ryan is currently the treating practitioner for the Lakeside State Basketball League teams, and also for the Fremantle Netball Association during their Saturday competitions.
