JACQUELINE COOPER |
Jacqueline leads the Health Central team at Currumbin. Her interest in soft tissue treatment started during her study at the University of Queensland. This is where she met Laurie Farrow who facilitated the soft tissue injury management courses. Following the completion of her studies, Jacqueline worked in neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation in Brisbane’s St Andrews Private Hospital before working for Brisbane Occupational Therapy Services. Here she branched into vocational rehabilitation and soft tissue, treating workers from various industries including mining, factories and laboratories and several sporting teams including state league netballers. Adding to her experience in musculoskeletal injuries she gained a more in-depth understanding of the impact of injury on function through her work in England. Jacqueline worked for the National Health Service managing integrated community rehabilitation programs. Whilst overseas, Jacqueline completed a course in Manual Medicine and Developmental Sports Kinesiology through Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. Under the guidance of Professor Lewit, Dr Kobesoba and Dr Kolar who are considered world experts in the field, Jacqueline refined her understanding of the neuro-developmental aspects of common injuries. Upon her return to Australia, Jacqueline worked as a consultant treating private patients and employees from a variety of industries including, local council, corporate companies, small businesses and the Gold Coast cricket team. Outside of her clinic work at Health Central, Jacqueline lectures in undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Soft Tissue Injury Management at James Cook University.
