SIA KOZLOWSKI Business Manager

Sia Kozlowski joined Health Central OTI in August 2004 as Business Manager. Sia's qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce, a Master of Leadership and Management, a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Business Research. She is currently undertaking a Doctorate at UWA. Her research will examine the relationship between service quality and service satisfaction in the allied health industry.

Sia’s professional working background has been in both the public and private sectors in a variety of areas including education, services and manufacturing in Australia and Eastern Europe. This has given her a concise understanding of the nature of business globally. Sia firmly believes that strong interpersonal skills combined with competent work skills and ongoing training are essential in order to develop an effective business model.  The culture at Health Central is indicative of this.

Sia is an advocate of two-way communication.  At Health Central we have seen how this has encouraged employees to support the organisation’s vision, united employees, promoted team building and facilitated smooth change processes.

LAURIE FARROW Managing Director/
Occupational Therapist

Laurie graduated 25 years ago from W.A.I.T. now Curtin University.

Laurie’s office bearing includes past President of OT Australia WA, past and current member of the OT National Council, a current member of the Registration Board, an adjunct senior lecturer at James Cook University and part time lecturer at universities throughout the nation. Laurie conducts post graduate courses in Functional Soft Tissue Medicine which has been running since 1994, in Perth, Townsville, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne and Brisbane, and is currently certificated through James Cook University in Townsville.

Laurie has spoken at many conferences worldwide and most recently spoke as guest of honor at the Singapore Malaysian OT Symposium in Langkawi and at the All India OT Conference in India.  Laurie is regularly asked to speak to corporate industry in relation to optimizing executive performance and also has strong links with the corporate sector throughout Australia.

Laurie’s awards include: Occupational Therapy “Entrepreneur of the Year Award” 1994: Australian Gymnastics Association “Official of the Year” 1998: the “Australian Sports Medal” 2000 as part of the Australian Honours List. Laurie has represented Australia as treating practitioner at 8 World Championships and is currently the Managing Director of Health Central Occupational Therapy International.

Laurie has treated the elite athletic fraternity since the early 1990’s, treating professional ballet dancers and contemporary dancers, professional basketball players from the NBL and ex NBA, soccer players, gold medal Olympians in sailing, national track and field athletes, professional artistic skaters, badminton players, boxers etc.

Laurie also treats many of the professional musicians, dancers and singers who undertake concert tours to Perth.

BRETT ZANI
Senior
Occupational Therapist

Brett Zani is a Senior Occupational Therapist and has been treating at Health Central OTI since 2003 with a specialisation in sports & performance injury & enhancement. Brett is currently the treating practitioner for the Basketball WA Intensive Training Centre Program, Youth Ballet of WA, WAAPA musical theatre & dance programs and Keady Irish Dance School. Brett also treats numerous basketball clubs & dance schools in the greater metropolitan area. He is also available for seminars on a range of topics such as injury prevention and management and has helped design injury management programs for multiple sporting clubs and recreation centres.

Brett graduated from Curtin University in 2003 and has completed post graduate soft tissue courses as well as facilitated soft tissue education seminars and tutorials. For the past four years he has supervised Occupational Therapy students and continues to do so. In 2007 Brett was awarded the Curtin University Fieldwork Supervision Award for his dedication to teaching and achieving high outcomes with students. Brett currently implements the Level One professional development program at Health Central OTI.

SIMONE LEE
Occupational Therapist

Simone holds a Bachelor of Science Occupational Therapy degree from Curtin University and joined the Health Central team towards the end of 2008.  Simone has had experience working as an Occupational Therapist in physical rehabilitation and paediatrics.  Simone has also been involved in research projects in the area of cancer and palliative care.

Simone has treated a diverse range of clients including dancers, athletes, office professionals, elderly, children, and people experiencing chronic pain problems.  Simone also holds a Teaching Certificate from the Royal Academy of Dance and has taught dance for over six years.  Her background in ballet and dance training has enabled her to have an increased understanding of athletes training and demands placed upon them, tailoring her treatments to maximise the potential of each individual client. 

Simone has a holistic approach to client care and is passionate about facilitating people to reach an optimum level of health and wellbeing.  She is available for seminars on a range of topics, including corporate health, ergonomic and workplace assessments, injury management and prevention and community education.

SCOTT PICKERING
Occupational Therapist

Scott Pickering has completed a Bachelor of Science Occupational Therapy degree through Curtin University of Technology in 2008 and is now working in the Mount Hawthorn clinic. He has over one thousand hours of practical experience in a range of areas including hand therapy, geriatric care, orthopaedic rehabilitation, mental health, paediatrics and soft tissue. In December 2008,  Scott traveled through India with the highly respected Curtin University Go Global program. His time in India was spent working in a multi disciplinary team to treat a massive range of orthopaedic conditions as well as major disabilities.

Scott feels strongly about prevention and effective rehabilitation of injuries for people from all walks of life. A dynamic sporting background in hockey, tennis, squash and basketball coupled with an understanding for the occupational imbalance has been his inspiration behind joining the Health Central Team. Scott has treated young children to the elderly for a diversity of conditions. Scott firmly believes in focusing on the individual’s needs and working with his client’s to achieve their occupational goals.

RYAN STANFORD
Occupational Therapist

Ryan is an Occupational Therapist at Health Central OTI in Ardross. He has completed a Bachelor of Science Occupational Therapy degree from Curtin University of Technology with over one thousand hours of experience. This includes working as an Occupational Therapist in vocational rehabilitation, occupational health and safety, mental health, paediatrics and orthopaedic rehabilitation. Ryan was also involved with the Curtin Occupational Therapy Abroad program, and traveled to China in his final year of study to work among children with disabilities including cerebral palsy.

Ryan has treated a diverse range of clients from all walks of life, including office professionals, tradesmen, the elderly and athletes. Ryan has a passionate interest in sport, and throughout his junior years was involved in basketball, water polo, specialist tennis programs, athletics, and is currently still competing in national level swimming. This has given Ryan a keen interest in helping men and women to recover from injuries and muscle discomfort sustained during physical activity, and to return to participate in these activities that they enjoy.

Ryan is currently the treating practitioner for the Lakeside State Basketball League teams, and also for the Fremantle Netball Association during their Saturday competitions.
